Spotlight Inactive Labor Force in OECD Countries
This graph shows the "dependency ratio", or the projected ratio between the "inactive elderly population" (people aged 65 and over that don't work) and the total labor force in 2050. An analysis by the OECD Factblog found, that in almost every OECD country there will be less than 2 active persons per inactive elderly, except in Iceland, Sweden, and Mexico, where the dependency ratio is still above 40 percent. In countries like Spain, Japan, or Italy, the ratio will be over 90 percent, or almost one to one. Read more from OECD.

Breastfeeding Report Card
Most infants need breast milk for the first 6 months of their life to ensure optimal growth and development. The CDC Breastfeeding Report Card shows how breastfeeding is being supported, promoted, and protected in the United States. The report card evaluates states by calculating the number of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and the number of La Leche League groups per 1,000 live births. These indicators give us an idea of how breastfeeding is being supported both within the hospital and the community. This graph shows the number of IBCLCs by the number of La Leche League groups per 1,000 live births. It looks like where there is more medical support, there is more community support as well.
